Happy Birthday Ranveer Singh

He may only be three films old, but Ranveer Singh is undeniably one of the most talked about celebs from B-Town! From chatting with director Karan Johar on Koffee with Karan about his love for Kareena Kapoor and his love for acting since early days, Ranveer is one popular star who is loved by millions of fans worldwide! As he turns 28 today, I take a look at what really makes him the 'desirable one'. Is all thanks due to his directors and the magnificent story lines, or perhaps his co-stars that add to the much need finesse to his films? The truth amongst all this, however, is that he can act! He knows how to deliver par excellence performances in his films and judging by the films he has lined up, Ranveer knows he is only getting better and better!

1. Band Baaja Baaraat

It was the year 2010, and Ranveer Singh was probably one of the most happiest men alive! After some not so impressive auditions, he still proved himself to Aditya Chopra along the way and was given his big break to star opposite Anushka Sharma in the rom-com Band Baaja Baaraat. Mixed reviews surrounded him post release, but their were some particular people from the film fraternity that couldn't stop praising his performance. Despite showing off his fine acting skills to the world, it was questionable after how long we would be seeing Ranveer Singh on the silver screen again. But after bagging the FilmFare award for the best male debut, it was but obvious that Ranveer was here to stay!

2. Ladies vs. Ricky Bahl
So what next? What could Ranveer possibly do better than Band Baaja Baaraat? Assigned to another Yash Chopra release, it was Ladies vs. Ricky Bahl that he was chosen for. First impressions were not so great. Why? Well he was paired opposite Anushka Sharma again and it was another rom-com! So I thought there wasn't much different or exciting to look forward to. Clearly, I was wrong. Ranveer had the opportunity to prove his versatility and whilst given the title of a con-man throughout the film, his different avatars and variations in acting were outstanding. He gave each and every character a unique appeal, and not once did you get bored of the changes. He knew how to keep his audience entertained and despite the film receiving mixed reviews, Ranveer's acting was once again much appreciated.

3. Lootera

Now, in the year 2013, we have Ranveer back on screen this month with Lootera. Reviews across the board are applauding the film with positive reviews, and it's interesting to see both Sonakshi and Ranveer's chemistry here. From playing a very suave and modern-thinking character in both of his previous films, Ranveer is moving away from being typecast or stereotyped by way of acting in a film that takes us back to the 1950's. Whilst I am hesitant to comment too much on this film without watching it, I must say that it does look like a cinematic treat for any Hindi film lover.

Amongst the three releases, Ranveer has some other exciting releases up his sleeve too! From Ram-Leela with Deepika Padukone to Gunday with both Arjun Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra, Ranveer should be celebrating his 28th birthday in style because he truly has a lot more to look forward to.

So lets raise a toast to his upcoming releases, future success in Bollywood and many more happy returns for the year! Happy birthday Ranveer!

Love Film! Love Bollywood!
