The Nawaab of Pataudi, Saif Ali Khan, has officially turned the big 43 today. Having been part of the industry for over two decades, Saif Ali Khan is recognised as one of the most sought after actors of the fraternity today.
Most actors tend to lead by one signature style and look throughout their films, but Saif on the other hand clearly loves exploring with his appearance! Recognised as one of the first actors to introduce male grooming to the industry, Saif has surely come a long way with his hairstyles. Take a look.
1. Aarzoo (1999) The long and floppy style
He entered the industry in the year 1992 and up until the end of the 90s, Saif Ali Khan opted to keep his tresses long and flowing. With little advise from stylists at the time, Saif Ali Khan endorsed the long and floppy look as his personal signature style for almost 10 years. In fact, his hairstyle became the rage of the mid 90s, as many of his fans chose to embrace a similar hairstyle. Personally, the floppy hair look did make Saif appear somewhat feminine. Although, Saif has grown his hair to this length in recent times, the way in which it has been styled has come a long way.
2. Salaam Namaste (2005) The funky look
In the year 2001 came Farhan Akhtar's Dil Chahta Hai, which suddenly saw Saif in a totally new and refreshing avatar. He carried off this spiked hair look up until the days of Salaam Namaste. During these years, Saif Ali Khan grew in popularity and once again his stylish appearances were very much talked about. He was known as the actor who looked just as cute as he did handsome and was noted for being the only metrosexual man of the industry who knew how to carry off pink. This for me had to be the highlight of Saif Ali Khan's looks.
3. Omkara (2006) The garishly bold look
What one will be able to notice over the years is that Saif Ali Khan's hair became shorter and shorter. In Omkara, the Nawaab experimented with his appearance and endorsed an ultra short haircut for the film. With so little maintenance, he also kept a rough edged beard, which worked tremendously well to add to the character's role. Saif was not only highly praised for his performance in this film but received great attention for his new look. He appeared mature, somewhat sinister, yet so masculine. At this point, Saif had explored over three different looks and with each look he was only looking better.
4. Race (2008) The dapper and sophisticated look
In Abbas Mustan's action thriller Race and the second instalment Race 2, Saif Ali Khan changed his appearance once again. This was probably one of the most defining points in his career, and Saif's dapper and sophisticated look for the film received much due attention. Saif re-appeared on screen as a suave, and fashionable actor, in which 'hot' and 'sexy' were words often associated with him.
5. Go Goa Gone (2013) The blonde look
Last of all, we have Saif Ali Khan in all his glory working the ultra blonde look. The film Go Goa Gone portrayed Saif in quite an unusual avatar, but what had to be more striking than ever was his dyed hair and beard. Indeed, he was just fitting into his characters of role of a Russian Mafia, but news has it that Saif enjoyed the colourful transformation to his appearance and he kept it post filming.
Whilst these are only some of Saif's most defining and prominent hairstyles, Saif does tend to change his appearance more often than not. On his 43rd birthday lets wish Saif many happy returns of the day and here's to seeing many more of his wonderful hairstyles.
