Ladies, ladies, ladies...this one's for you.
Are you inspired by the bohemian side plait? There are so many chic ways to work this, but which one is the ideal look for you? Take a look at these five Bollywood inspired braided hair trends and be inspired.
The internationally acclaimed superstar - Priyanka Chopra, has a generous amount of voluminous tresses to work the bohemian style braid perfectly. The hair plaited to the side against the white tee looks uber funky! It's not overtly messy, but it has been styled to give a very soft and natural look to her face. The added details of the beach curls and side fringe add some liveliness to the braided plait - perfect for a day out with friends.
2. Anushka Sharma
Anushka Sharma proves that the bohemian hairstyle can work with practically any look. Whether you're wearing western attire or a traditional Indian outfit, the braided plait works well either way. Anushka's hair is longer in length so her hair plait appears thinner towards the ends of her hair. Anushka's braided plait speaks out the word 'simplicity' because it is simply swept to the side and is not overly thought about. It's simple yet effective, which Is why I think it's just as uber chic with traditional clothing of western clothing.
3. Deepika Padukone
The girl with all the right films in her kitty, Deepika Padukone has beautiful caramel highlights in her hair that serve to add so much more volume and definition to her facial features. Here, Deepika proves that the bohemian plait is more than just a casual hairstyle and looks fabulous against a sophisticated gown. Deepika opts to keep her hair volumed at the crown section to add more body to her style. Using the same method of back-combing at the crown section, Deepika's braided plait is definitely one of my favourites.
4. Sonakshi Sinha
Sonakshi Sinha is well recognised for her Desi avatars and her braided plait adds so much more flavour to her Desi looks. The side plait does carry with it a sense of traditionalism, which I believe Sonakshi embodies in more ways than one. When compared with former actresses of the yester-years, Sonakshi's braided plait can be described as a classic 70s look.
5. Sonam Kapoor
Lastly, without further a do we have fashionista Sonam Kapoor. Now we all know that this young actress always works her sense of style 'outside the box', and when it comes to the braided plait Sonam is indeed sticking to the same principles. Sonam's side plait is all about the side parting, and this is what makes her plait stand apart. The side parting romanticises the overall plait. I know this may not be ideal for every woman, but the incorporation of smaller braided plaits to the side of her hair before creating one thick plait is something we can all try and achieve.
So go try out your favourite style and work the braided plait for any occasion. Remember a plait is not simply a plait, but it's about how you style it, create it and work it!
