Saif Ali Khan for Stardust India: 2/5
Stardust India sticks to what they know – putting the face of their favourite star or favourite couple on the front cover. And surprisingly, this always works. Saif makes an interesting choice for this month’s cover with the quotation ‘Kareena wouldn’t mind me working with Amrita’ definitely posing some interesting questions. There’s no doubt that this edition will make a good read, but the traditional formula, for me, is getting monotonous. A whacky, out-of-the-box picture would certainly be a treat for the eyes.
Kalki Koechlin for Elle India: 2.5/5
The actress described in the words of Elle as ‘harder, better, faster stronger’, last made an outstanding appearance in Dharma’s Yeh Jawana Hai Deewani, and if anything, I'm eager to see her on the screen again. There’s no denying that Kalki is an outstanding actress, but does this image really set her apart as the strong and idyllic woman? Sadly, for me, this cover remains far too plain and simplistic. Let’s hope the features inside are worth a read.
Kareena Kapoor for Femina India: 3/5
Femina India chose Mrs Kareena Kapoor Khan as the exclusive lady to grace this months ‘India’s most beautiful women’ edition. Having bagged an exciting film opposite Salman Khan in Kabir Khan’s next (Bajrangi Bhaijaan), the actress has indeed kick-started the year with a bang showcasing her presence on this month’s cover. With very little attention given to what she is wearing this front cover is still a winner for showing off Kareena’s demure and minimalist makeup look.
Arjun Kapoor for GQ India: 3.5/5
GQ India – the crème da la crème of men’s fashion and sophistication chose Tevar’s hero, Arjun Kapoor, as the man of the cover for this month. While his rugged look in films including, Gunday and 2 States has gone down well with audiences, it’s nice to see the dapper side of Arjun. He has certainly built up a name for himself in the industry and given his success it come with no surprise that he is GQ’s cover star. Don’t you just love the suited and booted look? I certainly do.
Jacqueline Fernandez for L’Officiel India: 3.5/5
After the success of Kick last year and with Roy making a big appearance this year, Jacqueline is certainly the talk of the town in B-Town. She is indeed an extremely sassy and charming young actress, but L’Officiel chose to snap up the actress in a very classy avatar. I wouldn’t say this is one of my favourite covers from L'Officiel, but Jacqueline certainly turns up the amp with a creatively chic image – kick starting the year in style.
Shraddha Kapoor for Verve India: 4/5
Verve never fails to impress with their very sophisticated front covers – and this month is no different. Shraddha’s got an interesting year ahead of her with the release of ABCD 2 and given the success of her films last year (Ek Villain), she’s the perfect choice for this edition. Dressed in a lavish sequined gown, with the smokey eyes and big, voluminous locks – she’s looking incredibly sensational. Way to go, Shraddha!
Nargis Fakhri for Noblesse India: 4.5/5
The sensual actress, Nargis Fakhri is a real sight to behold on this month's Noblesse India. Dressed in a stunning Gucci dress, I love the overall minimalism of this cover and the fact that it still has the power to grab my attention. There's no denying that Nargis is an 'archetypal beauty', but we certainly need to see this beauty grace our film screens more often than not. Here's to seeing more of her this year.
Anushka Sharma for Vogue India: 5/5
While her role in PK has been widely appreciated, we can’t say the same for the look she sported in the film. Vogue India, however, gives us the REAL Anushka - the one that we all prefer to see. Dressed in a sophisticated Burberry Prorsum dress, sharing a smile with the camera, Anushka has nailed it with this cover and there's nothing I would change about it. Here’s to seeing her grace the screen in this years movies, NH10 and Bombay Velvet.
