New Year, New You - The Bolly bodies!

We've all been there and said it before, 'new year equals new me'. But, how many of us really stick to a workout plan that gives us the bodies we've always wanted? Answer, barely any! Here's a motivational post to get your workout plan kickstarted this year, because it's never too late. No excuses needed after you've taken a peek into these Bollywood workout regimes...

  1. Hrithik Roshan - the chiseled one
It goes without saying that Hrithik Roshan makes the top of the list for THE best body in the industry. For all my male readers out there, this one's for you! If you want definition, stomach abs, and an all new chiseled physique then look no further.
    • Hrithik's diet consists of clean and wholesome foods, rich in protein and fresh fruit and vegetables. From four egg whites with wholemeal toast, chicken breast styled curry, stir-fried vegetables and fish - Hrithik stays clear of unhealthy fats and food high in sugar.
    • One of his intense training programmes focuses on defining and toning his muscles. Focusing primarily on compound movements and lifting weights.
    • Exercise regularly and don't give up - you will not see overnight results, but when you make a lifestyle choice to eat the right foods and train regularly with strategic plan in place anything is possible.

      2. Deepika Padukone - the slender and toned

A slender and athletic body frame, and an avid badminton player - we women would love to get in shape like Deepika too. While a chunk of Deepika's workout plan consists of doing early morning yoga, there are certain other exercises she incorporates throughout.
    • Deepika primarily focuses on doing leg and stomach exercises, incorporating Pilates and free hand exercises within her routine. Pilates help tone ones stomach and help you stay flexible.
    • One of Deepika's favourite activities beside badminton is dancing. While Deepika has the opportunity to practice dance routines for her film rehearsals, she truly believes in this exercise as a way of staying fit and healthy. So put on your favourite dance music and break some dance moves!
    • She believes in the philosophy of always eating greens and eating lean meats. Grilled chicken, fish, roti and cooked vegetables are on the top of her list - add these to yours and you'll be off to a good start.

      3. Aamir Khan - the lean machine

It's great to see how far Aamir has come since he began his hard-core training for Gajini (2008), and he is a excellent example of someone who has stuck to the regime. If you're inspired by Aamir and his physique then take a look at what he does to keep fit. He's body size and look does change accordingly as per his film-character requests.
    • When looking specifically at Aamir's workout plan for Dhoom 3, he did have a personal trainer who also taught him martial arts and gymnastics. He did these activities alongside working out at the gym at least 5 times a week in order to build lean muscle mass and become more flexible.
    • As with any hard-core training, making changes to your diet is also key to seeing results. Aamir is an avid fan of drinking green tea every morning, and then moves on to eating egg whites, muesli and fresh fruit.
    • For each day of the week, he concentrated on different muscle groups that required training. From chest exercises on Monday, leg exercises on Tuesday and back exercised Wednesday - each day is prioritised carefully. This is the best way of ensuring each part of your body is being looked after.

       4.  Priyanka Chopra - the strong and sensual

Mary Kom proved that Priyanka is not only one of the fittest actresses of today, but also one of the strongest females. Strength training for women is not necessarily about gaining mass muscle, but it's important for women to be involved in training to get stronger, look fitter and feel healthier.

    • Having undergone 45 days of rigorous training for the movie, Priyanka actively participated in running long distances, shadow boxing and gym training. It's not necessary to concentrate on all three exercises to achieve results, but if you are keen to build muscle and strength then a weight training program maybe what you're looking for.
    • Her diet consisted of complex carbohydrates and healthy fats, but primarily lean proteins from grilled chicken and fish to repair her muscles. She also increased her intake of green vegetables and fruits to maintain a balanced and healthy diet.
    • Priyanka has often cited that her all-new workout plan and dietary requirements for Mary Kom helped her form a better posture and build her stamina - she believes that strength training can work to alleviate pain (e.g. back pain or shoulder pain), and believes in the positive after effects.

Four very interesting workout routines, but which of these best suits your requirements? Remember, whichever celebrity you admire they all have one thing in common; they never give up. If they can achieve it so can you. Please note that these are suggestions shared with you all to simply motivate you. In no way do I personally endorse any of these workouts or dietary requirements stated above.
