As stars graced last night’s Star Guild Awards 2015, I take a
look at which of them dressed their part for the evening. After all, it’s not
just about picking up an award, but it’s about receiving a fashion accolade for
making everyone’s head turn. I’ve picked out six of the best female fashion appearances;
take a look at who made the style cut.
Shraddha’s given us a lot to talk about recently after her widely applauded involvement in Ek Villain. And, rightly so, we’re looking forward to seeing her grace the screen this year in ADCD 2. Arriving on the red carpet event last night, Shraddha was snapped in a fabulous red gown designed by Atsu Sekhose. You can never go wrong with red for a star-studded event, and this classic and equally safe colour option suits Shraddha remarkably well. Finished off with some detailed sparkle and a pair of simple earrings, Shraddha is a sight to behold.

This had to have been my favourite look for the evening. Everything from the style of the outfit, A-line split to the colour makes the perfect match – suiting Alia exceptionally well. This divine ensemble, fashioned by Prabal Gurung transformed Alia’s look completely. From her classic girl-next-door looks in films such as 2 States, the damsel showed us that there’s more to her style quotient than what her onscreen roles entail. Royal blue is the new black because it’s sexy, glamorous and so 2015. Way to go, Alia!
The Happy New Year star, Deepika stepped out to the award function in a stunning fishtail gown. Deepika has the perfect figure to adorn this style of dress and does great justice to the timeless creation by Amit GT. It’s not one of my all-time favourite looks for Deepika, but she was indeed one of the best dressed celebs of the show. As like Shraddha, Deepika also opted for an all over sequin glam to add some jazz to the outfit. Keeping the hair tied up with a simplistic and elegant makeup look finishes off the ensemble perfectly.
If there’s any one actress that reveals an-all-new look every time she graces the red carpet then that’s Miss PC. This is not a gown I’d have the courage to walk out in, but Priyanka does justice to the bright orange dress. Designed by Toni Matcevski, Priyanka paired the look with a classic pair of Christian Louboutin’s and a sleek ponytail. Without over-doing it, Priyanka leaves the over-flowing drapes of her dress to do all the talking for itself. I applaud her bravery and attitude to gracing the red carpet in an unconventional piece.
The leading actress to watch out for in Roy (2015) sported a very chic yet sensual ensemble at last night’s event. Looking incredibly glamorous, Jacqueline donned a Gaurav Gupta gown and jazzed up the look with a pair of Gehna studs. Although I love the unusually styling of the dress, I don’t think Jacqualine did justice to the look as she opted to keep her tresses down. The over-statement of the dress needed to be balanced with a simple and classic up-do; there’s just too much going on to appreciate the overall look.

Padukone: Timeless elegance
