Indeed, audiences worldwide are anxiously waiting for the release of Ishkq in Paris, but till then lets take a look at Preity Zinta acting at her best in 5 films that would not be the same without her...
1. Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna (2006)
Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna was undoubtedly one of the finest Dharma Production- Karan Johar directed films that we have seen till date, in which all actors gave a worthy of recognition performance too. Playing the role of Rhea, Preity convincingly enticed audiences into making us believe her character's marriage is a total failure. She did a phenomenal job, and despite her character going through a divorce and through a multitude of familial problems, Rhea was distinguished was one of the strongest and confident ladies in modern time.
2. Salaam Namaste (2005)
One of the major releases in which Preity gave a fine performance was in Salaam Namaste, where she fulfilled the role of a vivacious radio VJ- Amber, who had a highly modern take on relationships by moving in with her boyfriend. She not only looked absolutely amazing in the film, however, immersed herself completely into the role! Salaam Namaste is a film that we will always associate Preity with, as she gave 100% to enacting the role of pregnant lady torn between her partner and having an abortion!
3. Veer Zaara (2004)
The Late Yash Chopra's- Veer Zaara will go down in history as one of the greatest romantic Bollywood films of all time, and as Preity is associated with this film, how could we possibly miss this out of the top 5?! With an amazing director, comes a fantastic story, but without a doubt it's thanks to the actors who bought this film to life. Preity played the role of Zaara who was separated from her lover for over 20yrs, and because of the depth of emotions she lent to her character, Preity indeed gave a first class performance!
4. Koi Mil Gaya (2003)
The first science fiction movie that was a major box office success was the Preity Zinta and Hrithik Roshan starrer Koi Mil Gaya. Although this film was primarily based around the male protagonist Rohit, Preity's role as Nisha was still highly appreciated and talked about in a favourable light. She did an outstanding job, and the story as a whole truly made you believe in the unknown! Whilst Preity hasn't been cast in the consecutive sequels, she will always be known as the female star associated with the birth of Bollywood Science Fiction!
5. Kal Ho Naa Ho (2003)
Till today, Kal Ho Naa Ho is a breathtaking movie, in which Shah Rukh, Saif and Preity all respectively did a wonderful job. Preity's character as Naina Catherine Kapoor was arguably one of her best performances till date, and a decade on the film is continuously loved by audiences world-over. Playing the very difficult role of a young lady in love with a dying man, Preity gave an outstandingly realistic performance that you can't help but shed a tear or two!
Whilst I have shared with you Preity's best films till date, it's also just as important to point out that Miss PZ is also one of the finest actresses of Bollywood! Although we haven't seen her on the big screens of late, she will always remain a favourite amongst the millions, and will always be associated with some of the greatest Bollywood films in recent times!
