Over the year 2012 we saw two major Bollywood actresses make this year their best ever yet. Take for example Vidya Balan who will be long remembered and associated with the success of Kahaani, and then we had Kareena Kapoor who set the big screens on fire with her par excellence performances in Talaash and Heroine. These ladies surely made 2012 a successful year for themselves, and as such, the question arises as to which actress has the ability to bag success in the year 2013?
1. Deepika Padukone
After the success and positive reviews received for her fine performance in Cocktail (2012), Deepika Padukone is ready to prove herself yet again in a number of films across the year. With 4 major Bollywood releases including, Race 2, Chennai Express, Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani and Ram Leela, Deepika is sure to have one of the busiest years ahead, in which she has the potential to outshine her contemporaries. On the contrary, it only took one film in 2012 for Deepika to prove herself, thus it may not necessarily mean that an abundance of films will correlate with the same success! Either way, the chances of her leaving her mark in 2013 are still relatively high, and it will be interesting to see how much potential unleashes onscreen in four very versatile films!
2. Priyanka Chopra
Priyanka Chopra is another contender on the list who could quite easily make 2013 her year! Given her last film success' from Agneepath (2012) to Barfi (2012), she has proven to her audiences that she is by far one of the most versatile and phenomenal actresses in B-Town today. So what's stopping her from doing exactly what she does best across 2013? Priyanka will be playing the lead role in films including Zanjeer, Gunday and the sequel Krrish 3. Given that Zanjeer is a remake, it's quite obvious high expectations will be held of the film, and her acting skills will be measured in comparison to Jaya Bachchan's. However, with both of the other former film releases, Priyanka has the opportunity to show off her performance in action packed entertainment movies, and win the nation's hearts!
3. Sonakshi Sinha
Despite the box office success of Son of Sardaar (2012) and Dabanngg 2 (2012), and her completion in films such as Rowdy Rathore (2012) and Joker (2012), Sonakshi Sinha is one particular actress that won't quite be remembered for her acting skills as of yet! With an abundance of releases over the last year, she continued to play the conventional roles of a damsel in distress, who wears the same saris and traditional desi attire in each of her releases. With the year 2013, Sonakshi will be seen in the sequel Once upon a time in Mumbai 2, Lootera and Bullet Raja, and I'm hopeful that she will remembered for one of these films at the least! The fact that she will be starring in an action/thriller and gangster movie suggests she is finally coming out of the closet, and will give her audiences something else to look forward to!
