Whether its at Lakme Fashion Week or any other dazzling catwalk events, throughout the years celebrities from time to time have walked the ramp in something not quite considered fashionable. For whatever reason designers collections have made it to these events despite them being total fashion disasters. Check out which ones are considered a total 'miss' below...
Devdasi in distress
Bipasha Basu in 2009 was seen at the Kolkata Fashion Week wearing a sari that looked like something that was supposed to have a contemporary twist on the traditional Devdasi style sari. Although the puffed up sleeves on the blouse are looking lovely, why have full length sleeves been added too? The overall outfit is so confusing, and the way in which the fabric falls across the body doesn't seem to do justice to Bipasha's figure.
Disconnected designs
Next up we have Malaika Arora Khan walking the ramp at the recent Mijwan Fashion Show 2012 in some sort of incomplete lengha. The overall colours work well together, but the outfit could have done without the jacket! Lengha's are traditionally known for their flare and length, and adding a shorter jacket on top completely ruins the style of the outfit- making it look rather disconnected!
Alienated Aladdin
Till today I can't seem to understand the obsession with these Jodhpuri trousers, they still look overly hideous! John Abraham was last seen sporting these at a celebratory fashion show , and my thoughts since then remain the same- that is they look disastrous. The way in which the pants are tightly fitted around the calfs and ankles but flare out around the top section into some sort of Aladdin frenzy makes no sense whatsoever! Why would you wear this?
Bewilderingly Bold
Here we have Kareena Kapoor in a very outrageous patterned dress for the Lakme Fashion Show 2012. With a tightly fitted corset placed under her black and white dress, you can almost mistake this for an over-coat! The bold designs and straight style of the dress doesn't give an overall classy or sophisticated look at all. I don't see what the fuss is about here, and don't think it's worth so much attention!
Perplexingly plain
Neither is this outfit worth so much attention! Karan Johar at the Mijwan Fashion Show 2012 sported a plain red and black piping sherwani. Where is the appeal in this? The simplicity in this sherwani doesn't enable you to appreciate the design or style, and looks more like a cloak that Amitabh Bachchan sported in Mohobbatein.
Outrageous Nightmare
Prateik Babbar may not be appreciated for his acting quite yet, but he is remembered for his presence at Lakme Fashion Week. Wearing a pair of black and white baggy Arabian trousers with baby pink Toms, Prateik is not looking quite attractive. If anything, he looks as if he is getting ready for bed as his patterned camera design trousers can be almost mistaken for pyjamas, whilst his Toms are mistaken for a pair of snug slippers! Terrible choice!
Undoubtedly there are probably an exceptional number of other fashionable disasters, however, these are the ones that strike me as the most disastrous in recent times. What do you think? Have you worn anything similar to this before?
