It was an evening filled with glitz and glam, and many B-town celebs joined together to find out who bagged the 'best actress' and 'best actor' of the year awards 2012. Some of the most popular female actresses flaunted the red carpet in designer-chic dresses, which one was the hottest? Lets find out below..
Female fashion fiesta
Deepika Padukone has had a great year as a result of one particular film release- Cocktail. She spoke of how excited she was to be nominated for her performance in the film, and believes she has so much more to offer with a number of releases in 2013!
On the fashion front, however, Deepika has not managed to bag much attention! Dressed in a black and white stripe print long dress, the 'zebra' look is not a 'hot' look she is carrying! Although the dress flaunts off her curvaceous lean figure the design does not do justice to her! I am also not a great fan of the large flower placed on her shoulder, as it works to make the dress more cluttered and distracting.

The newly married Kareena Kapoor gave a phenomenal performance in this years Talaash, and managed to gain commercial success with releases including Ek Main aur Ek Tu and Heroine. As a result of her fantastic performance in a suspense- thriller, Kareena proudly received an award for this, and I truly believe she has so much more to offer in the coming year!
As far as her sense of style goes, I am drawn to the fact that Kareena has chosen an outfit that is an unusual preference for such an event! In a plain black smart trouser-suit, she still looks so vibrant and elegant. She proves that you don't necessarily have to wear a ball-gown dress of some sort to look sensual, and you can look just as pretty in a pair of smart trousers and cinched in blazer! Love it!

Actor/Singer Priyanka Chopra's artistic performance in this years Barfi has been one of the major highlights of this year, and Priyanka Chopra has yet again proven she is comfortable and just as capable of performing in a non-glamourous avatar. Undoubtedly Barfi and Priyanka's performance have been receiving much appraisal across Cannes and last nights BIG Star Entertainment Awards, however, her performance in Agneepath deserves as much appraisal too!
Priyanka was snapped in a gorgeous red backless gown, I absolutely love this! She looked beautiful, and has the perfect figure to carry off this gown like no other! The detailed cross panel around the waist, hair neatly kept to one side and flowing fabric around the back looks magnificent, and I don't think she could have picked a better outfit for the function. Way to go Priyanka!

Katrina Kaif was also one of the potential female actress awardees on the night, and her popularity has increasingly grown this year as a result of the box office breaking success of her films including Ek tha Tiger and her first film opposite Shah Rukh Khan in Jab Tak Hai Jaan. As such, the year ahead seems quite promising for Katrina too, and she should be back with another bang...if not bigger!
Wrapped and draped in long metallic gold dress, Katrina suits the rich and vivacious colours superbly well, and flaunts off her hour-glass figure like a true celebrity! Everything from her makeup, hair and dress colour is perfect, however, we do see Katrina dressed in this style of dress over and over again! Going sleeveless and strapless is a popular choice of style Katrina continually endorses. Indeed this suits her, but maybe try something out of your comfort zone next year?
