Talaash is the next much awaited release in B-town, starring Aamir Khan, Kareena Kapoor and Rani Mukherjee. Recent news sources have revealed lead actress Rani will be supporting the no-makeup look across the film, and has no quorums about going all natural to make the film and her role as realistic as possible.
With most films, renowned make up artists such as Mickey Contractor are given the honour of 'dolling up' actresses to look immaculately perfect on screen, but in this case Rani is relying solely on her acting skills to prove herself as a performer, rather than a beauty queen!
So whatever the imperfections and freckles on her face, Rani is indirectly suggesting the importance of audiences recognising in her talent first, and her appearance is not everything! Rani has proven many times in the past that she is a fine actress of the industry, and her previous no makeup look in Sanjay Leela Bansali's Black worked very much in her favour.
This brings into question whether contemporary actresses of today should also be willing to play much more natural-looking roles, with little or no makeup at all? Or does appearance mean more to them to bag more films and subsequent success?
