Talaash Film Premiere 2012

Alas! The day is here, and Talaash is released worldwide!! I'm grasping the first opportunity tomorrow to head to the cinema and catch the icons on big screen! Very excited! Until then...B-Town celebs were seen attending the premiere of the film in Mumbai, and how could I possibly miss out on an opportunity of reviewing what they wore..

Fashion at the Premiere

Talaash hero- Aamir Khan
Dressed in a sky blue knitted effect button up cardigan, is Aamir Khan, and unfortunately I think he has probably chosen one of the worst outfits in a very long time! Dressing smart was essential as he is there to represent his own film. But going festively casual, as if he is at someone's Christmas party does not look very appropriate, to say the least! As much as he is a fantastic actor, I think he needed more fashionable advice on this occasion.

Heroine of the film- Rani Mukherjee

Rani Mukherjee was snapped wearing a traditional frock style suit, not the type I would refer to as an Anaarkali as it doesn't seem to have as much flair, but a frock-suit nonetheless. I've suggested previously that Rani suits the traditional look the best, and I'm happy she has chosen an outfit which suits her figure well. In terms of the choice of frock suit, however, it's a bad bad choice! It is ever so bland and light in colour-, that you almost can't appreciate what she is wearing. Perhaps a darker shade of fabric and one with some more spark may have been ideal! Make up and hair on the other hand- excellente, very feminine and pretty!

Anushka Sharma at the premiere of Talaash

After seeing Anushka at the premiere of her own film Jab Tak Hai Jaan, she has gone for quite a distinctive and differentiating look for the premiere of Talaash. As it is not her own film, she is seen sporting much more of a casual 'hippie' look, which looks just as great on her. The floral print flared trousers with a fitted vest is the perfect combination in tying the outfit together, and she has a charm to look simple yet so stunning! Love the way she swept her tresses to one side too, showing off some soft curls!

Farhan Akhtar- premiere of Talaash

The Zindagi na milegi dobara star, seems to have embraced Movember well and truly as he shows off his grown Mo and beard at the latest Premiere. Other than this, there is very little that can be said about his 'fashion sense'. Where is your stylist? Farhan looks as if he is out for a brisk walk dressed in trainers (dear oh dear!) and casual denim jeans. There is no explanation for what look he was trying to go for here, or whether he was at all! But please request a stylist to help you out next time..it's in your own interest!

Kangana Ranaut- at premiere of Talaash

Kangana's fashion sense has been recently appraised for across the Internet, and she doesn't fail to disappoint here either! Although dressed so casually in a contemporary manner, Kangana looks fabulous in a cream fitted vest top paired together with a nice pair of black chino trousers. It's the perfect combination and suits her extremely well, and I love the way she has accessorised with a black and white leopard print bag to bring the colours together! Bravo!

Lara Dutta at the premiere of Talaash

Here we have the 'now' celebrity mother- Lara Dutta, with her husband Bhupathi. Lara since having her first child, still manages to carry off a sense of femininity and fashion really well, and looks curvaceously amazing in her deep grey knee length dress. Paired together with a nice pair of gold heels, clutch and bracelets, Lara is looking like a real dime! Bhupathi on the other hand, is looking as he always does, and goes for the conventional smart casual look- could he have gone for something a little different this time?

Kiran Rao- wife of Aamir Khan at the premiere of Talaash

Last on my fashion list is the wife of star Aamir, Kiran Rao. Now I know how leather is a real 'hot' trend at the moment, but leather pants are just so not right for a premiere. They look cheap and so unsophisticated, that I somewhat wish Kiran stuck to wearing a smart fitted dress or smarter trousers of some sort! The green blouse top isn't so bad, but paired with the leather pants is really not hot!

Overall the fashion at the premiere was kept very simple and ever so contemporary, with only a snap of Rani seen wearing a traditional style outfit. My opinions are that they didn't want to make the event a 'hugely celebrated' or a 'grand' affair, and therefore dressing down and keeping fashion styles at a bare minimal was key to reinforcing this notion. What did you think of how the celebrities dressed at the premiere? Should some celebrities have made more of an effort?
